The Strategy and Support Division collaborates with individuals, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to reduce inequities and improve cancer outcomes for all. The Research Governance team, part of the Research Governance and Business Operations unit, oversees research integrity and governance, manages funding for Victorian researchers, and supports internal researchers in maintaining professional standards through the Cancer Council Victoria’s research governance and integrity service.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Research Governance Projects Lead to join the Research Governance Division. Reporting to the Manager, Research Governance, your role is to:

  • Lead projects that enhance research grants funding, governance, ethics and integrity activities.
  • Provide operational support to the research governance program, including coordinating phases of the research grants program.
  • Analyse data and information to assess the impact of research investment, inform decision-making and improve funding strategies.
  • Support the Human Research Ethics Committee and activities to ensure research governance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximise program outcomes.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Project management experience and proven organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, interpret and clearly and confidently communicate data and information.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to develop positive working relationships with a range of key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, initiative, and willingness to learn new skills.
