We have an opportunity for a Principal Analyst to join the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence to contribute to population health and broader public health objectives. The Principal Analyst will lead a strategic and coordinated approach to the generation and use of high quality, relevant research and evaluation evidence to improve policy and program effectiveness in relation to Aboriginal health and equity.
Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $139,787 - $161,663 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
- Oversee a strategic approach to conducting and commissioning research, monitoring and evaluation projects with an equity lens, and projects that specifically support Aboriginal health policy and program development and implementation.
- Provide sound information and advice on current and emerging Aboriginal health and equity research and evaluation policy issues to Senior Executives and key staff within the Ministry of Health, public health organisations and related government agencies to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved or addressed.
- Represent NSW Health on internal and external committees working on Aboriginal Health and equity research and evaluation issues.
- Develop business plans, project budgets and manage staff to ensure cost-effective service delivery and compliance with Centre, Divisional and Ministry administrative, human resource and financial processes
- Prepare high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to inform or respond to agency or Government requests
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Significant skills and experience in research and evaluation of health policies and programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal health and equity issues, and cultural considerations in conducting research and evaluation with Aboriginal communities.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in supervision of staff and managing high performance teams to address issues strategically.
- Superior organisational skills, oral and written communication skills.
- Strategic thinking capability, able to understand complex challenges and programs and to apply problem solving and analytical skills to address and provide solutions to monitoring and evaluation challenges.
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including the ability to maintain effective relationships and a consultative approach to the design and delivery of monitoring and evaluation initiatives.
