The School has over 9,000 students enrolled in coursework and research programs, from undergraduate Commerce to the Global Executive MBA and doctoral program. Under its new five year strategic plan, the school is introducing a range of exciting innovations in educational practice at all levels and is seeking additional experienced educator talent for teaching teams within its Business Education unit.

The Business School’s Business Education unit is responsible for the development, delivery and quality assurance of cross-disciplinary coursework core units of study in the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate commerce programs.

The school is now inviting Expressions of Interest for casual and casual sessional tutor educators for teaching teams responsible for delivering foundational and capstone units of study in the undergraduate and postgraduate Commerce programs.


As a member of one or more of the educator teams in Business Education, you will have the opportunity to pursue your passion for higher education in a fast paced and mission-critical area of our school’s coursework activities. Our teaching teams are led by senior academics in the field, and our students come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.

We are seeking individuals who are committed to making a positive difference to our students’ learning experience and their preparedness for career success. Successful individuals will have a willingness to better the lives of others through innovative educational practice in business and management are especially encouraged to indicate their interest. Specifically, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from candidates wishing to tutor in the following fields:

  • Fundamentals of business/management
  • Management practices and processes
  • Business strategy and decision-making
  • Organisational leadership and change management
  • Business innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Business economics
  • Business case simulations
  • Business project management and team-working
  • Business sustainability
  • Business ethics and corporate social responsibility.


Essential criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business/management or relevant cognate areas and/or substantial practical experience in business/management roles, For tutoring at postgraduate level, applicants must have either a coursework master’s degree or higher in business/management or cognate field and/or substantial practical experience in business/management roles.
  • knowledge of contemporary developments in business/management research and/or practice
  • skills in teaching and assessment practices relevant to business/management students
  • capacity to work collegially, responsibly and effectively in a teaching team
  • evidence of capacity to work effectively and respectfully with international students
  • evidence of capacity to address the learning needs of particular student cohorts.


Desirable criteria
:

  •  familiarity with blended learning practices, including on-line content delivery and ‘flipped’ classroom methods
  • a high level of intercultural competence.


Tutorial Rate:
$141 paid for one hour of tutorial time (or equivalent delivery through other than face-to-face teaching mode) and up to two hours of associated working time, including activities such as preparation, contemporaneous marking and student consultation. For individuals holding a relevant PhD the Tutorial rate is $168.
