Program / Teaching Coordinator - Fashion & Textiles Merchandising

The School of Fashion and Textiles offers a diverse suite of programs over the spectrum of fashion and textile practices in design, technology and merchandising which strengthens the school’s ability to operate as a leading global player. Staff work across specialised fields and facilitate the development of creative research clusters within the school to assist the sharing of ideas within a collaborative framework.
Your primary role and responsibility will be to support the Program Manager Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising, covering the coordination of staff resources and student administration of the Fashion Merchandising program. The role will include maintaining a positive student experience within the program by working closely with staff and students. You will coordinate processes and activities in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching materials, products and services to meet the needs of enterprises, industry and students.
You will interact with external organisations and other RMIT Schools, in particular teaching staff and administration staff. You will also participate in relevant activities to ensure that vocational competence to the education level being delivered and assessed is maintained, together with promoting, encouraging and ensuring teaching staff participate in relevant activities to ensure vocational competence to the education level being delivered and assessed is maintained.
Your demonstrated teaching experience and ability to coordinate the work of staff in the development and implementation of TAFE and Higher Education programs will be essential, as will be a professional teaching qualification, (AQF Level 5) Diploma or above, which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching. A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is mandatory for TAFE Teachers from 1 July 2013.
