About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Clinical Trial Supervisor/Clinical Research Supervisor to work as a member of the research team at the Frazer Institute located within the Translational Research Institute. As a member of the research team, you will be responsible for the management and operation of clinical cohort studies and clinical trials.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating multi-centre investigator-initiated studies from feasibility through to startup/initiation and assisting with the day-to-day running of the research projects/clinical trials. You will also liaise with the Academic Lead, Clinical Research Manager, Investigators, and Clinical Trial Coordinators and laboratory research staff in a multidisciplinary team for the successful coordination of clinical trials.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Clinical Research Management: Prepare and develop research project documents, including ethics submissions, study protocols, and databases, while monitoring study progress and reporting to stakeholders.
- Participate in clinical data analysis and ensure compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and relevant ethical and legislative standards.
- Clinical Trial Supervision: Maintain effective communication with collaborators, trial sites, and stakeholders while overseeing patient assessment, data collection, and recruitment strategies within ethical and legal guidelines.
- Ensure patient safety by reporting adverse events according to regulatory requirements and perform additional duties as directed.
- Leadership and Management: This role requires Supervisor Level Capabilities from UQ’s Leadership and Management Framework

About You
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in Science or related Health field
- Further qualifications in clinical trial management Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge, experience and skill in the management and conduct of clinical trials according to the principles of: ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice o The National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research involving Humans
- Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory and ethical requirements associated with the conduct of clinical trials in Australia
- Proficiency in computer packages including Microsoft office and databases
- Well-developed communication and writing skills with a demonstrated ability to draft, proof and edit a wide range of written material including research protocols and reports
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as appropriate to complete research tasks within the project time frame
- Advanced critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and take responsibility for initiatives
- Have a track record of finishing tasks on time and to a high standard, with attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, mandatory immunisations, AHPRA Registration.
