The Division seeks to strengthen communities and partnerships across NSW through programs and grants for energy efficiency, sustainability, climate change adaptation, coast and flood protection. It has a strong focus on liveability issues in Greater Sydney, including protecting cultural heritage and urban biodiversity, and strategic biodiversity planning.

About the Role:
The Climate Change Adaptation Team of OEH has recently received NSW Government funding over several years to deliver a range of climate change adaptation and resilience programs and enhance existing programs. We are a multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed team of around 14 dedicated people delivering world leading climate change adaptation outcomes for NSW and Local Government, environmental and cultural values, businesses and the community.
We are looking for Senior Project Officers to help us establish and deliver this important work. These people will be great collaborators and enthusiastic about finding solutions for the adaptation challenges that climate change presents. You will need to have applied knowledge of climate change adaptation and experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental management/ ecology/ biology/ cultural heritage/ planning/ sustainability/ natural resource management/ risk management/ asset management/ community engagement.
Primary purpose of the role
Raise awareness of the impacts of climate change and support the implementation of adaptation policy and programs. Develop policy and deliver programs which focus on climate change adaptation and resilience. Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including government, community, business, environment and cultural heritage.

A Recruitment Pool may be established for further Senior Project Officer roles in the Climate Change Adaptation team, and for future roles with similar focus capabilities across OEH, DPE and other NSW Public Sector agencies over a 12-month period.
