The Department
The Medical Oncology Unit provides co-ordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies. An important component of this care are the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients.
The Unit conducts phase I, II and III trials, and is a participating member of both National and International Clinical Trials Groups, incorporating both pharmaceutical industry sponsored and investigator driven studies across a wide range of tumour types.
The Role
The position is a highly valued and key resource for the clinical trial coordinators. The Medical Scientist will assist in the processing and management of clinical trial laboratory samples, the input of data into e case report forms and provide administrative support to ensure effective and efficient team operations with Alfred Cancer Trials. In conjunction with team members, the Medical Scientist research assistant will assist in maintaining appropriate regulatory documents and ensuring regulatory compliance in the conduct of clinical trials. The position also provides an opportunity to coordinate non-interventional clinical studies.
