We are currently recruiting to the position of Cardiology Clinical Trials Research Officer (Health Manager Level 1).This is a temporary part-time (16 hours per week) position until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of an extension subject to funding.

What you'll be doing

The Clinical Research Officer will be responsible for a range of duties that support the Cardiology Clinical Trials and research portfolio. Responsibilities will include development, preparation, submission and ongoing management of research documentation; study feasibility, start up, close-out and archiving activities.  The position works as part of a multidisciplinary team and requires a comprehensive understanding of health service delivery and the research regulatory environment.  The position will support the Clinical Trials Manager with all trial administration activities of the unit and will hold responsibility for research data management support and study coordination as directed.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification at a graduate level in a health or science discipline or equivalent research/trial experience.
  2. Demonstrated working knowledge of the clinical trial and research regulatory environment and processes.
  3. Proven proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products and their application in research.
  4. Demonstrated critical thinking, problem solving and organisational skills.
  5. Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
