About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join as an Academic Support Officer to provide a wide range of professional services to support the Department Chairs and academic staff within the School of Engineering and the School of Science, Computing and Engineering Technologies.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Academic Services, you will provide a level of executive and secretariat support to Academic Department Chairs and assist with teaching administration in accordance with School procedures. You will facilitate compliance with University and School processes and assist in streamlining processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
This position has responsibility for a wide range of operational tasks to support the requirements of the Schools. In particular, this position plays a key role in the administrative requirements surrounding sessional staff engagement and administration, and may be required to provide back up support across Schools and Communities of Practice.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated high level of confidential detailed administrative support to senior management.
- High level of organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing and conflicting deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to review and evaluate systems to ensure continuous efficient office management.
- High level interpersonal skills, oral and written, particularly as they relate to maintenance of relationships with a diverse range of multiple communication networks and channels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven high level use and management of electronic diaries and associated packages and high level computer literacy including email, word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and database and PowerPoint packages.
Qualifications
- Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
